Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Tower Hamlets to assist with the appointment of a Spatial Data Team Leader, on a 4-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £32.45 - £41.86 per hour

Summary:

To provide management and leadership to a section that delivers a high quality, specialised service covering all Spatial Data including statutory responsibilities and meets all relevant standards.

Lead and manage all activities in the section including the effective processing and discharge of all spatial data requirements including local land charges (LC), street naming & numbering (SN&N) and a GIS support service
ensuring that all processes are consistently and robustly tested, audited, in line with all relevant international and national spatial information regulations, and that staff are held in compliance with the data needs of all operated process and data management systems

To lead and be responsible for the successful transition of any Local Land Charge functions to the Land Registry as and when programmed and to ensure the remaining service remains fit for purpose and is supported as appropriate by income within the Spatial Data team

Responsibilities:

  • Actively contribute to the councils priorities and outcomes in a way that promotes a one organisation approach.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and communities to ensure the council and the directorate strategic priorities are effectively implemented.
  • Promote equality among all staff and ensure that services are delivered in a non-discriminatory way, that is inclusive of all disadvantaged groups.
  • Support organisational change and learning, following and implementing appropriate systems of self-development, communication and engagement, quality measures, monitoring and review in delivering the functions of the role.
  • Promote sustainability, including encouraging a culture of innovation and accountability amongst all council staff.

Qualifications:

  • An experienced team manager
  • Proven experience in managing and motivating a team with a constant workload, under pressure with demanding deadlines
  • Extensive experience of working and delivering in a customer focussed
    environment Proven experience of successful management and development of relationships with internal services and external partners
  • Experience of managing budgets, income analysis and measuring
    financial and team performance.
  • Experience of managing, working in or working closely with a GIS team
