The Master Data Manager will operate in the UK Finance Shared Service Centre team based at Wrexham within the framework of the Company and Group accounting policies, procedures and internal controls. Tasked with ensuring effective maintenance, governance and creation of master data objects, completing market GAP analysis, leading implementation of new processes, tools and technology and developing/delivering training to the end-user community.

What will you be doing…

Master Data Governance

  • Develop and enforce data governance policies and standards related to Master Data.
  • Define data quality rules, procedures and workflows to ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance.
  • Implement data stewardship processes to manage ongoing data quality and integrity.

Master Data Management (MDM)

  • Define master data processes, models and hierarchies to support business requirements.
  • Monitor and analyse data quality metrics and KPI's related to master data.
  • Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data quality.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to resolve data integrity issues and perform data cleansing activities.
  • Ensure master data compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with master data management.

Leadership

  • Build and lead a team of master data stewards, analysts and specialists.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching and performance management to all team members.
  • Foster a culture of data stewardship and continuous improvement within the team.

Lead BAU / Stakeholders

  • Long-term, run the Master Data Process council (key stakeholders, sponsors, etc.)
  • Work with Key Stakeholders for buy-in on best practices of Master Data Management Process.
  • Reframe and harmonize the master data processes.
  • Take responsibility for defining the master data governance framework.
  • Develop and implement master data business processes within ECC /S4 and other systems etc..
  • Ensure data quality, compliance, and consistency of master data across business systems.
  • Update/design of the future master data workflows.
  • Test future Master Data Management Process in UAT/ SIT.

Data Culture / Community

  • Identify and define Business Data Requestor local country to ensure only limited people in the business can request master data creation, change, and mass update.
  • Identify and define Local Data Owner and gap analysis for further coaching and training needed.
  • Coach and train the existing Master Data Stewards.
  • Coach and train wider aspects of the business local data owner.

Tools

  • Lead the implementation and management of MDM Processes and Quality tools and technologies.
  • Leverage the existing Master Data Quality Tools called Syniti and implement weekly DQ KPI.
  • Own and maintain global Master Data Quality rules, data standards, and logic dictionary.
  • Lead and support the Master Data Governance buy-in with Leadership and support the implementation.

What are we looking for…

  • Significant proven experience of data management experience incl. master data management and metadata management, preferably in an industrial company with a life sciences/pharma focus and including hands-on experience with the implementation of Master Data Management & Governance
  • Possess excellent project management skills
  • Have a demonstrable track record of SAP Master Data Management and Data Governance
  • Substantial expertise in translating business requirements into data (management) requirements.
  • Experience in integrating complex and cross-corporate processes
  • Have the ability to develop, mentor & coach indirect team members
  • Excellent business acumen and interpersonal skills; able to work across functions at a senior level to influence and effect change to achieve common goals
