Job Description

This is a full time role, based in our Colchester office and we are offering hybrid working (3 days in the office/ 2 days from home).

Apprenticeship Role

Data Technician Level 3 - equivalent to A-Levels - covers the core technical skills required to transform data into insights, as well as softer skills like building narratives and presenting findings. Upon completion, apprentices will feel confident navigating the data landscape and using data to inform business decisions.

Requirements for the Apprenticeship

  • GCSE Equivalent Grade C/4 and above in English & Maths
  • Have lived in the UK/EEA continuously for the last 3 years

Informa is undergoing an exciting period of change, with innovations within its digital and data space. This is a critical role bringing together colleague data into associated platforms & systems to ensure that colleague's information is correct to drive items like engagement, performance management, and learning amongst others.

The HR Systems Apprentice will be responsible for looking after the Informa Absence Management System, ensuring that the data is well maintained through regular audits and assisting with queries from our global HR teams and colleagues. You will also be assisting in the data entry, integrity, organisation, and upload of HR Colleague data into other Informa associated platforms & systems, that are relied upon daily. A good understanding of excel is essential for this role and you will learn additional skills through your apprenticeship.

Key Responsibilities

The Apprentice is expected to assume the following key responsibilities plus any other reasonable duties as required:

  • Maintain the E-days absence platform including the ticket resolution process and supporting any system enhancements required.
  • Conduct regular data audits on the absence management system and reconciliations across HR systems and liaise with the relevant teams to ensure any data issues are addressed.
  • Manage the day to day activity for the Absence Management email inbox to ensure requests are prioritised and dealt with promptly.
  • Data entry and admin tasks utilising excel to maintain, refine, and deliver a high quality of data. Including insights into upload processes where applicable.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage upload processes into associated platforms/systems whilst working to key business deadlines.
  • Working with regional teams to ensure HRIS (SAP & Oracle) are updated, and their admin entry supports the requirements for the system uploads.
  • An eye for detail within all admin entry to ensure any errors and inconsistencies you find are corrected at source. Utilising excel functions and formulas to support these processes.
  • Engage with subject matter experts to continuously build upon your understanding, whilst working towards improvement of data quality, data entry, its usage, and upload processes.
  • Willingness to identify and work through new opportunities, build upon your understanding of excel and usage to support admin tasks and data entry to the upload processes.
Qualifications
  • An Apprenticeship is a learning opportunity. Apprentices will be required to complete the mandatory six hours of weekly off-the-job training and all tasks associated with obtaining the Apprenticeship qualification. Our Apprentice opportunities are open for candidates who do not currently hold and who are not currently studying for a degree level qualification.
  • GCSE Equivalent Grade C/4 and above in English & Maths
  • Have lived in the UK/EEA continuously for the last 3 years
  • Highly organised, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain these whilst working to deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of excel and the use of formulas.
  • Tech savvy and willing to adopt and embrace new technologies
  • Detail-oriented, excellent written and verbal skills, extremely organized  
  • You are adaptable to change and a fast-paced environment
  • You are ambitious, influential and pay close attention to detail
  • Positive can-do attitude. You relish a challenge and are confident finding solutions to problems
