Context

This is a new, key role in the team, responsible for supporting the Data Management data capability within the Asset Management COO function. The goal of the Data Management team is to embed 'data as an asset' within the culture of the function in order to achieve the required level of consistency, quality and protection to meet the overall Asset Management needs and thereby enabling Asset management to become truly a data driven function.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a keen interest in data and to be part of the growing capability in the highly specialised area of Asset Management within the Phoenix Group

The role will focus on the data management capability within our IBOR platform "Blackrock Aladdin". This includes processing of data across the Asset Management function. The role will support the business data requirements, ensuring that the data required is loaded into this core systems and that effective controls are in place to maintain the data quality.

Key Responsibilities

Data Management

  • Support Static Data Management processes by validating data and inputting into core Asset Management platforms, primary of which is Blackrock Aladdin. This includes Portfolio, Private Credit and Security Master data.
  • Following documented business processes.
  • Support information required for reporting of data management data quality.
  • Data creation/maintenance for non-business owned data e.g business owned data e.g. CIC Code ref data, PD credit spreads.
  • Supporting Classification, Industry Sector and Strategic Asset Allocation data.
  • Supporting the business with data queries.
  • Running daily, weekly, monthly reconciliation process
  • Use of 3rd party vendors market data, sources to support data updates, validation & other processes.

Data Quality

  • Supporting data quality on a daily basis.
  • Ensure data quality issues can be tracked and recorded for Governance, MI reporting purposes.
  • Follows 4-eyes data validation processes, principles to ensure correct data management processes are followed.

Ad-Hoc

  • Contributes to the successful running of the Data Management Function.
  • Has a high regard for data, understanding the importance of this data being accurate, on time and to a high standard.
  • Help build out the IBOR within Blackrock Aladdin system

What are we looking for?

Experience

  • Experience with security master management in Blackrock Aladdin is essential
  • Understanding of Asset Management industry
  • Understanding of data management concepts and implementation within a Financial Services setting.

Knowledge

  • Interest in Financial Services organisation, preferably Asset Management or Financial Services
  • Understanding of Data Management principles within a Financial Services environment

Skills

  • Experience in a data discipline particularly Data Management & Data Quality
  • Data and analytical skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work to tight timescales within a high energy team environment
  • Good presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Good communication skills

Qualifications

It is not essential for you to be a University Degree holder to apply for this role
