Position Overview

This is a 4-month student position for the Winter term (January-April).

Our data aspiration is to unlock the power of connected data to deliver continuous value for our customers, our partners, and our company with trust and integrity. This position is central to our ability to do so and offers a unique opportunity to focus on the people side of change management, supporting the adoption of data related practices and learning across Canada Life. The Data Enablement Intern will support the Canada Data team and will be responsible for creating end user resources and solutions that simplify, automate and improve our internal customer experience and processes. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to develop reporting and insights that will enable us to measure our success.

Position Accountabilities

  • Build enhanced process solutions: leverage modern tools and capabilities to automate and enhance operational processes and facilitate the collection of valuable metrics and feedback from key stakeholders
  • Build end user solutions: create end user resources such as process diagrams, knowledge articles and presentations to help support the adoption of new processes and available technology across the organization
  • Support the delivery of strategic communications to business partners
  • Build insights: complete data analysis and discovery to better understand the data and the story it is telling to drive actionable results
  • Loves teamwork and collaborates daily across the Canada Data Team and with business partners
  • Open to learning and presenting and excited to share work across the company, with senior leadership and through community of practice participation

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and strong organization skills
  • Agile, practical, customer service-oriented mindset
  • Generally curious and excited to learn new things and solve problems
  • Applied data management experience (Data & Analytics education an asset) or related experience
  • Experience in Power BI, Visio, SharePoint and the Microsoft Power Platform (Microsoft Forms, Power Automate) an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Azure cloud technologies (ADF, Databricks, Synapse, etc.) an asset

The base salary for this position is between $41,400 - $65,300 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.

For our student opportunities, the base salary will be dependent on the number of work terms you have completed along with other factors depending on your program.
